WRITING COACH SERVICES HELP YOUNG PEOPLE TO EXCEL

This week has been dedicated to me being a writing coach for an excellent young writer. Rebekah (pictured above) has already created and written two books of her own. They are not published yet but she has the determination to carry it through. This week we have worked on her story planning, character developing and more. She is working on several chapter books at this time and will be in the seventh grade this Fall. She is a great example of putting her talents into action. If you are interested in a writing coach for your young person please let me know at whoiamnotwhatiam@yahoo.com .

HANG IN THERE...

When you reach for your goals with full intensity...you reach them. As an author I am able to meet many people who share their dreams with me. The best part about having a dream is taking the necessary steps to make it happen. Do you have a dream? Is it written down? Have you also wrote down the steps that will get you closer? The picture above is a photo of my brother. I used to take him to the gym with me and he was not very fond of exercise. He grunted and complained when I challenged him to lift weights and run on the treadmill. One day he proclaimed that he wanted to be in great shape. He stopped drinking sugary beverages and began working out daily. He has not ever missed a workout since he began this regimen. Today he is very strong and I am the one who has the occasional grunt when I workout with him. His goal/dream was to be very physically fit and he made it come true. If your goal is to be published...begin researching the markets that they are looking for. Take classes and seminars to get you prepared for the life of an author and write everyday! If your goal is have your own business...invest in your education! Find out what you need to get you in touch with the right contacts. My next lunch-time webinar is on June 29th from 11-12. You can register today using the paypal buttons on this page. If you would like to see me in person register for our next Power Of People seminar on July 9th from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Your goals are attainable...it's all about applying the methods you need to see your dream become a reality.

Making Connections...

This Saturday I had a wonderful time with the ladies of the Black Women In Business Brainstorm. Our meetings are always focused and positive and our featured speaker was Nicole Johnson. She gave a presentation on Generational Diversity. Often when people think of diversity they can immediately consider race relations & gender. This focus was a fresh perspective in regards to the groupings from Traditionals to Gen-Y. The ways that people act, look and perform can easily be tied to the times that they were born and the life-changing events that happened while they were growing up. It is always beautiful when people learn to work together offering a variety of strengths and challenges so that we can glean knowledge and success from one another.
Take some time today to make a new connection.

He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare,

He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare,And he who has one enemy will meet him everywhere.
Ali ibn-Abi-Talib (602 AD - 661 AD), A Hundred Sayings

The quote above is a reminder of the strength of relationships. In addition to being heavily involved with books that promote self-esteem and diversity...I am also a facilitator of a series titled "The Power Of People". This series helps people yield the best results out of relationships by using social media and traditional networking strategies. Every person is important and it is always better to build a bridge than to burn it. Think about who your friends are...could your relationship use a makeover? Are you being the best support to them? What can you bring to this relationship to make it even better? Think about that for a while and after careful thought... try making a list and noting the ways that your relationships are helpful and the ways that the relationship can improve. This exercise is good for those who are four or fourty-four. Relationships are vital from the time we have our first playdate to our weddings and beyond. If your goal is to excel in your career or business than your goal should be to make the most out of your relationships. Join me on June 29th for a introspective webinar on using referrals to reach your goals, boosting your online presence and creating a elevator speech that is unforgettable. The cost is only $15 and can be purchased on this page. Remember to read something great!

One of the benefits that I have had since being published is meeting amazing people that make a difference. Last year I met Trina Fatimah Williams, Founder of the Mixed Roots Movement and the Reel Mixed Film Festival. Fatimah is great at building bridges with race relations and acceptance and I was honored to be a speaker at the Reel Mixed Film Festival last week. I hope that you enjoy the photos!

There is hope

In this time of recession and challenge...an opportunity is looming. I have spoken to many people who have lost their jobs, their financial stability and the lifestyle that they are accustomed to is being threatened by the current economic state of America. There is always a silver lining and sometimes we have to discover it the hard way. Many people that have had rough times have realized that they have more strength than they thought they did. My seminars on the Power Of People are meant to motivate and inspire as well as teach people the principles that they need to effectively brand and present themselves despite the current environment. In a time when referrals mean so much these upcoming seminars are valuable. Sign up for my webinar on networking and using social media to increase the value of your brand. This will take place on June 19th at 12 p.m. it is a hour session but it is well worth the time and the cost of $15.00. My next seminar is July 9th and this will be on using the referral generation to take your career and professional brand to the next level. There will also be a focus on using social networking to boost your online presence. Please pass these opportunities on to others that you meet and offer hope in a time of challenge.

Bringing diversity awareness to you...

My book "Who I Am Not What I Am" helps children to focus on self-esteem and acceptance of others. The main character (Janelle) is a young girl who feels confident in herself until kids question her in regards to her race. This book is great for those who want to talk with their children about race relations in a fun and positive way. Many schools, libraries and organizatios have invited me to speak to their children in hopes that they can understand what diversity means and therefore fight the effects of bullying and low self-esteem. If you are interested in having me talk to youth at your camp, school, etc. please email me at whoiamnotwhatiam@yahoo.com My fees are based on time, size of audience, etc. This evening I am the keynote speaker for the Walk Now For Autism team sponsored by "Autism Speaks". I will also lead a team of selfless individuals in bringing awareness and support to this cause. On this Saturday I will be a stop on the Reel Mixed Film Festival. I will be signing books and reading in Birmingham, MI at the Baldwin Library. I hope to see you!
