Much To Do about everything

Hi Readers!
I've been very busy this week which got me to thinking about the way that I treat people when I am on a mission. It is very easy to be nice to others when I have time on my hands but when I have a lot going on and I am stressed....that's when it can get scary. So what I've discovered is that I have to evaluate myself during hectic times more than typical. When my to-do list is full I should be full of compassion for others not short-tempered and self-serving. One of the goals of "Who I am not what I am" is to make people think about the way we accept ourselves and others. I don't believe we can be truly happy with ourselves if we treat others harshly or unfairly. Food for thought:) Please mark your calendars for Southgate! This Saturday I will be at the Southgate Center Mall from 2-4 at Walden Books. I hope that you can make it!

Southgate on Saturday!

This Saturday I will be signing books at the Southgate Center Mall in Michigan. I will be at the Walden Books from 2-4. I'd love to see you and chat with you about my book and sign one out for someone special on your list! The thing that I love most about the signings is that I am able to engage with people. I meet people with dreams to write and I feel as though just by being present I help them to realize that it can happen for them too if they want it. With that in mind remember that my Creative Writing workshop is next Wednesday from 11-1 in Novi, MI. Please attend if you have a interest in writing we will have a great time and hopefully make some great memories! In November I will be doing signings in Michigan all month so if you can't make Southgate remember that I will be in Auburn Hills and Westland this month as well. More workshops are on the way too. Please book your calendar for November 13th from 6-8 my first evening workshop will take place for those who enjoy writing but are not able to make the day series. A Weekend one is on the way as well as a childrens/teen series.

Thanks for reading!

New territory!

Hi Readers!

Today I have a signing at Oxmoor Center Mall in Louisville, Ky. I am so grateful for the experiences that "Who I am not what I am" has offered me. I have been able to travel to New Jersey, Chicago, Ohio, KY, Pennsylvania and all the Michigan area to spread the message of diversity, inclusion and self-esteem to kids! I am so excited to take this on as a full-time career and truly have a passion for my work. I hope that you will be able to personally join me on these incredible journeys where I learn more about myself as I meet others and learn about them. Stay tuned! Next week's stop is in Cinci, OH. :)

Make it a great day and don't ask for permission to be wonderful!

The right thing to do is write!

Hi Readers! Thanks for stopping by. Today I'm going to write about writer's block. I think it's funny that when I'm hit with a block I still use my keys and imagination and hope that I say something compelling and helpful to you. As I'm writing about my writer's block I hope that you see the lesson in what I'm doing. I'm pushing through, not accepting no for an answer and not making an excuse not to write to you because of my challenge. The moral of the story is the right thing to do is write even when it seems wrong. If you have a hard time making something happen that is really important don't give up-just keep on trying even when it seems hard and before you know it you've accomplished a miracle even if you were in doubt the whole time. Have a great day and thanks for reading:)

You can't take it back

Hi Readers!

One of the hardest things to do is take back something that you have said to someone. I have a good friend that used words to hurt someone today...this friend shared with me at the time it felt good to express the emotion that they felt. I talked to them about the example that they set for others and how what if they truly hurt the person's feelings. After a while my friend shared that they felt bad and they wished that they did not say what they did. Even though this friend could not take the words back they did something that I truly respected...they apologized! What courage that took?! When we say something hurtful we may not be able to take back the words but we can say sorry and mean it. It is very brave to say sorry! If you have hurt someone start today by mending the pain by apologizing my friend did and I believe this was a smart move! Have a great day and leave the world a better place than you found it:)

Change a life because of the way you live your own....

Are you ever tempted to be negative? Do you feel pressure to go with the crowd when it is clearly not in the interest of others? If you answered yes this means that you are human...but it also means that their is hope that you can change your attitude and change a life. Everyday we have a opportunity to shape someone's life positively or not. When we take time to give compliments or listen we may help someone to feel better about themselves when we don't take the time to care about others at all we effect others lives as well in a negative way. You get to make a choice if someone will remember how you helped them or if they remember that you did not. Let's take the opportunity to leave a positive fingerprint on others hearts today!

Let me know and I will try to make it happen! Have a great weekend and stay positive:)

What challenges you makes you.............

My hope for you reader is that when challenges come your way you get stronger! Sweat on your brow, clenched fists, quick beats of the heart may be a result of being under pressure or being pushed to your limits. The other indicator of being pushed to your limits is that you have a chance to shine! When you do great things...people notice. They may not tell you that they are impressed...that's ok (we have to remind ourselves it only matters what we tell ourselves). This means that your self-confidence cannot be dependent on people. Compliments, nice notes, kind gestures make us feel good but we have to know that if those things stop...our excellence does not. The true test of excellence is being excellent regardless.

Who's your role model?

Is there someone in your life that has helped you to reach your dreams? Do they know? One of the best gifts someone can give you is inspiration and the best gift you can return to them is to let them know. So many wonderful people have helped me to be a success! Who has contributed to your life and said the right thing to you at the right time? Now that you've thought about it....tell them! Let's keep the positivity flowing...I'll see you in Chicago this Saturday:)
